Last day in Argentina

Our last day here dawns clear and sunny, looks to be a humid day of about 78 F. We will be checking out of the apartment this morning, but we don't leave until late tonight. Last view from our balcony...

These items have been indispensible while we were here!! (Thank you, Travis)

See you all back home!!!

New Starbucks frappuccinos

We have found a few Starbucks here in Buenos Aires, not nearly enough to supply a city of 14 million!!! This little touch of home has been pretty nice :)

They are advertising a couple of new frappuccinos, I really like the Dark Cherry Mocha. Noelle, do you guys make those?

There is an odd feeling about needing a frappuccino on a humid 80 degree day while hearing Starbucks playing Christmas tunes in the background...

Bible Quizzing in Argentina

This was a big highlight of the trip for me!

Brother Sponsler & I met with the National Youth President and presented the Bible Quiz ministry along with Spanish language materials and rule manuals, etc.

The Youth President is very excited about the ministry and is ready to get started with it immediately!!! I am sure this will be a tremendous blessing to the youth of the churches here!!!

How do you say "Buzz" in Spanish?

I think something like "corte de pelo"...

We were getting kind of shaggy, so we tried out this barber. I ordered a #4 for Austin which is what he usually gets at home... Poor Austin didn't hardly have any hair left!!

No pics for the rest of us :)

Thanksgiving Day

To all of our family and friends...we hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day!

We spent our afternoon in a little barrio called Tigre, walking and seeing the handmade crafts of the different vendors. The temperature today was around 80 with only 47% humidity. So, it was a nice day to be out walking and enjoying the sunshine!

Then we, the Sponslers and us, went to KANSAS for dinner. They had "thanksgiving dinner" not quite like we get at home, but they tried...

Intel Visit

Last Friday I met with employees at the Intel offices in Buenos Aires. They are a Sales & Marketing group of about 15 people. I gave a presentation on Oregon, what Intel does in Oregon and a bit about my work on microprocessors. All of these folks speak English, which is uncommon here. The Intel office is located on the watefront is the ritzy part of town which is called Puerto Madero. The Argentina Sales Manager was a very nice fellow named Esteban, and he would like to have our family over for dinner. We are hopeful that will work out!

Ladies Conference

I have been delinquent in posting, apologies...

Last weekend was the Argentine National Ladies Conference. Special speakers were John & Debbie Dean from Bentonville, Arkansas. It was a tremendous conference, with around 2,500 in attendence. Even though it was a "Ladies" conference there were a substantial number of men and children present. These people really like to sing and worship!!

During the Saturday evening service, I was asked to greet the audience and Cora was asked to sing. Even though Cora sang in English, the crowd really responded in worship to the Lord.

When all was said and done, at least 275 people were filled with the Holy Ghost!!! We really enjoyed the Conference.
